The firing of Baltimore Orioles’ manager Brandon Hyde took a toll on both fans and players. It came as a shock for fans who never expected the manager to become the one taking the blame. However, it were the players who were affected the most, as Hyde had been with the team for the past seven years, which is a pretty long time. Pitcher Kyle Gibson was seen blaming himself for the sudden departure of Hyde from the team.

Kyle Gibson’s reaction to Brandon Hyde’s departure

Kyle Gibson had a slow start this season, with a 16.78 ERA and only 10 strikeouts. When the Orioles decided to fire Brandon Hyde from the manager role, it was Gibson who took the blow deeply.
When asked how he felt after hearing the news, he went on to say,
“It’s a gut punch. Feeling like you’re part of getting your manager is a gut punch, not going out there and being able to compete… I don’t know if any of you have ever felt the feeling of essentially letting down your co-workers, but it’s a gut punch.”Gibson further went on to say,“Anytime when a good person is let go and anytime when you care for a person who’s not around anymore.. Hyde was an awesome person. I enjoyed playing for him every single day.”Though the Baltimore Orioles did not have a good start, part of which also falls on the players not performing up to mark, the harsh decision was not well-received by baseball fans. Though Mansolino will act as the interim manager, players and fans will miss Hyde a lot.

Cedric Mullins reacts to Brandon Hyde losing his managerial position

When asked about Brandon Hyde during an interview, the former Silver Slugger winner, Cedric Mullins, was reportedly finding it difficult to hold back his tears. Upon much difficulty, Mullins said,“I feel like I failed him in a way, just not being able to perform continuously and help get us some wins across the board.”
Though Mullins and Kyle expressed their grief regarding the matter, the Baltimore Orioles’ management has already made the decision. Hyde has contributed a lot to the team, and reportedly went 421-492 for the team. However, he had to leave the position after the Orioles’ poor performance this season (a 15-29 start). To replace him, the management has appointed Tony Mansolino as the new interim manager. Also Read: Baltimore Orioles makes shocking decision of firing manager Brandon Hyde
